In acknowledging the receipt of Your Excellency's letter N. 113 of the 24th Inst, I have the honor to acquaint you, that all the ground in the vicinity of Mr. Edger's Premises is still unappropriated and that even had it been granted, I should have had no difficulty under the instructions I have received from England, in assigning it for public uses.
Under these circumstances there can be no possible objection to the arrangement which Your Excellency's letter alludes to, for a site for a Naval Hospital being fixed upon in that quarter
